ID Released Of Man Struck, Killed By Lirr Train In West Sayville

The identity has been released of a man who was killed after being struck by a Long Island Rail Road train overnight.

The incident happened around 9:15 p.m. Friday, April 5 in West Sayville and disrupted service for approximately two hours, according to the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA).

On Monday morning, April 8, the MTA identified the man who died as Steven Calone, age 54, of West Sayville.

"The investigation is ongoing but initially looks like it was non-criminal in nature," the MTA said.
